Hi, I’m Laura!
I’m passionate about pursuing a simple, faith-filled life centered around raising my family, serving my community, and helping other moms step into their God-given calling—without the burnout.
My journey has been anything but traditional. I’ve worn many hats—college student, corporate executive, ministry leader, entrepreneur—but through every season, one thing remained the same: a deep desire to live simply, serve others, and chase adventure.
In 2013, I launched Love Fast Live Slow (LFLS) as an online ministry to write books, lead Bible studies, and encourage women to trade hustle for holy rest.
⭐ Over a decade later, I’ve written six books, published hundreds of blogs, led dozens of free Bible studies, and connected with thousands of Love Fast Live Slow email subscribers—women like you who are ready to embrace a slower, more intentional life.
I’ve also put together a resource page filled with books, podcasts, and tools that have helped me navigate life’s highs and lows. (Check it out here!)
Your support and belief in this mission mean everything. Let’s link arms and walk this journey together—loving faster and living slow. 💛
Who Are We?
We’re the Mendenhall family—a neurodiverse, adventure-loving, homeschool crew of five (with one more on the way) navigating life’s challenges and joys with faith at the center.

Some days are wild and fast-paced, others are slow and reflective, but through it all, we’ve learned that when God is the conductor, the symphony of life plays in harmony—giving us the energy and stamina to do exactly what He’s called us to do, no more and no less.
Nick has spent nearly two decades in ministry, while I (Laura) earned a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University. Together, we’ve spent years writing Bible studies, speaking at events, and leading discipleship programs, which naturally led to the launch of Love Fast Live Slow (LFLS) in 2013—a space to encourage families to live with intention, prioritize what matters, and embrace God’s pace.
What We Love
💛 Our Kids & Their Passions: Homeschooling lets us nurture their strengths, watch them blossom into who God created them to be, and learn alongside them every day.
⏳ Intentional Rhythms: We don’t cram our calendar full. White space is sacred, giving us time to tinker with go-karts, get muddy in the garden, build K’NEX roller coasters, and create music in our tiny studio.
🏡 Teamwork & Balance: We respect each other’s needs for recharging, recognize our triggers, and prioritize kindness and support. Life isn’t perfect, but it’s beautifully messy and fun.
At the end of the day, living slow doesn’t mean doing less—it means making room for what truly matters: creativity, spontaneity, rest, and the freedom to serve others as God leads. 💛
What Do We Do?
We are a ministry dedicated to writing and talking about how to live like Jesus. Jesus lived a simple life. Therefore, we like simplicity.
We teach love fast + live slow principles in many ways:

Why Love Fast?
It’s not a stretch to say we live in an individualistic society.
Even from childhood, we are surrounded by messages about getting what we want, when we want, and how we want it. As we grow up, we see examples of people looking out for their own interests first (even it if means lying, cheating, and stealing).
To love fast is to serve others as a reflex. May it become deeply embedded in our hearts, eliminating any hesitation when presented with the opportunity to extend love to others.
It’s a choice. It’s a behavior. It’s a mindset.
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
Phillippians 2:3
Why Live Slow?
We all have seasons of busyness. Being productive and honoring your work with excellence does not violate the law of living slowly.
On the other hand, slowing down the pace of your life does not mean kicking up your feet and letting go of your responsibilities.
Living slow means you are maintaining a margin in your life so you can rest and recharge. God has given each of us a specific purpose to truly be all we were created to be, we must stop and reflect.
Listen to that still small voice. Take a deep breath. Appreciate creation. Let us not glorify busy. Rather, let’s lead by example by living simply and living intentionally.
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:17
