Hi, we are Nick and Laura!

We are obsessed with pursuing a simple life that revolves around raising our family and loving our community.

We’ve learned a lot over the years. From full-time college students to teaching, to working in full-time ministry, to corporate America, to jobless, to entrepreneurs. Our track record is not that impressive to one who deems a traditional career path the hallmark of success. However, we choose to view life differently.

In the midst of our spiritual, financial, and physical highs + lows, we had this underlying desire to live simply, serve others, and chase adventure.

We launched Love Fast Live Slow (LFLS) as an online ministry in 2013 as a means to write books, lead bible studies, and inspire others to focus on what matters.

⭐ Ten years later, we’ve published five books (browse them here), written hundreds of blogs (read them here), led dozens of free online bible studies, and have thousands of you already subscribed as Insiders (become an Insider here).

We have a resource page (super helpful, click here) dedicated to the books, podcasts, and items that have helped us through many ups and downs.

We could not have done this without you. Your support and belief in this mission made all the difference! Thank you!

Let’s link arms and figure out how to continue loving faster and living slow, deal?

Who Are We?

Nick has been working in ministry for almost two decades and Laura has a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University.

Their years of experience speaking at events, writing Bible studies/curriculum, and leading others in discipleship shine through the work they do at LFLS.

They both graduated from the University of West Georgia, where they bought into the lie that success equals happiness.

After a lot of failures, they finally accepted that happiness comes instead from God-established rhythms in one’s life.

Fun Facts: Nick is a wannabe executive chef. Laura is a wannabe minimalist. Nick is an adventure-seeking, talkative extrovert. Laura is a homebody, book-hoarding introvert.

What Do We Do?

We are a ministry dedicated to writing and talking about how to live like Jesus. Jesus lived a simple life. Therefore, we like simplicity.

We teach love fast + live slow principles in many ways:

  • BLOG: Search through our articles by topic here
  • BIBLE STUDIES: Check out our free online resources

Why Love Fast?

It’s not a stretch to say we live in an individualistic society.

Even from childhood, we are surrounded by messages about getting what we want, when we want, and how we want it. As we grow up, we see examples of people looking out for their own interests first (even it if means lying, cheating, and stealing).

To love fast is to serve others as a reflex. May it become deeply embedded in our hearts, eliminating any hesitation when presented with the opportunity to extend love to others.

It’s a choice. It’s a behavior. It’s a mindset.

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”

Phillippians 2:3

Why Live Slow?

We all have seasons of busyness. Being productive and honoring your work with excellence does not violate the law of living slowly.

On the other hand, slowing down the pace of your life does not mean kicking up your feet and letting go of your responsibilities.

Living slow means you are maintaining a margin in your life so you can rest and recharge. God has given each of us a specific purpose to truly be all we were created to be, we must stop and reflect.

Listen to that still small voice. Take a deep breath. Appreciate creation. Let us not glorify busy. Rather, let’s lead by example by living simply and living intentionally.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Colossians 3:17

Our Travel Blog

It’s probably not surprising that, fueled by our ambitious and wandering spirits, we’ve become a full-time RV family. Since February 2023, we’ve been hitting the road with the goal of exploring every state by the end of 2025.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed documenting our adventures and offering travel tips for our favorite destinations. Laura has dug deep into researching the developmental advantages that travel provides for children.
